The dubious character released his debut album in 1997, a collection of tasteless songs originally written for a community radio station in the east of Montreal. The targeted low-income audience was thrilled, but since they couldn't afford to buy CDs, Mononc' sold very few. Nevertheless, the ruckus persisted, and he released two more albums in less than a year. Through relentless work, greasing palms, and sheer luck, the uncle experiences unexpected and growing success over the years. He now boasts no less than 11 studio albums. His collaborations with the metalheads from Anonymus have been particularly fruitful, establishing him as a respected figure among drug consumers in Quebec and even in French-speaking Europe.
