MADBALL: THE ENDURING PILLAR OF NEW YORK HARDCORE

Formed in 1988 with the support of several members of Agnostic Front, Madball remains an unwavering force in New York hardcore. The band, led by Agnostic Front's Roger Miret on bass, Vinnie Stigma on guitar, Will Shepler on drums, and Roger's brother, Freddy Cricien, on vocals, has left an indelible mark on the history of hardcore.

Madball's early days were shaped by unused Agnostic Front tracks, giving rise to the debut EP "Ball Of Destruction" in 1989. After years of gigs in the New York region, the lineup was bolstered by the addition of second guitarist Matt Henderson, present during the recording of the EP "Droppin' Many Suckers."

In 1994, following the signing with Roadrunner Records, Madball released the albums "Set It Off" and "Demonstrating My Style," solidifying their consistent presence on stage and expanding their base of passionate fans. Despite a temporary hiatus between 2001 and 2002, Madball returned with a new lineup, featuring Freddy Cricien, Hoya Roc, Mitts, and Rigg Ross.

Over the years, Madball has delivered iconic albums such as "Hold It Down" (2000), "Legacy" (2005), and "Infiltrate The System" (2007). The band has weathered lineup changes, with members like Rigg Ross and Ben Dussault, yet maintained resilience and impact on the global hardcore scene.

Entering 2023, Madball stands tall, remaining an undisputed force in hardcore. With a new album, "Empire," slated for release this year, the legendary group is poised to continue its legacy in the frenetic world of New York hardcore.
